more hide and seek fun

This post is in English again, as some of this stuff just doesn't translate well. So, we were playing hide and seek again, and Luka couldn't find me. So I started making noise and he finally came into the closet where I was hiding and asked :"Mama, are you in here?". I replied: "Yes, I am!" And he said:"I don't think so..."
Ana was reading a book about Pocahontas and asked "Mom, why is Pontahontas angry, why?"
She also calls a flyswatter a "fly-slaughter"
Luka was convinced that poo and pee went into the big box above the toilet, so I had to open the water tank and show him that there was nothing there but water. He was amazed.
I turned 40 ten days ago, and yesterday we had a birthday party for Milena, who turned 50.

I can't 'niff her...

Luka and I were playing hide and seek and he couldn't find me, as I was cleverly standing behind an open door. Thus, he called Ana and said: "Ana, I need your help. Mama is hiding and I can't see her and I can't 'niff (sniff) her."
Ana put on a pretty dress and then very seriously said: "Mama, I need a perfect thing on my neck!"
We have been grilling out a lot, and kids got a plasma car yesterday, so that is the newest favorite toy. They are still speaking Serbian a bit (it helps that Milena comes over frequently), and still want to go somewhere on an airplane. Soon, I hope :)

HercegNovi

"Tata, sta to radis?"
"Mama, I don't want to get old. I don't want to be a grandmother. I don't want to be grand, no I don't want to be grand!"
Went to Wildcenter flower today, then swimming pool, played with fire trucks and shopped. Growing and growing, both of them.

Let's take Ana to Goodwill

Luka has decided that Ana is not good and that we need to take her to Goodwill. Tempting, as she just cost us a night in the ER (found a Tylenol bottle and drank a quarter of the bottle), and as she is clicking the mouse as I am trying to write this.

We had a fun day at Lost Pines resort recently where we all enjoyed their water park and kids rode on ponies.

Currently spending a lot of time looking at plane tickets for our trip to Montenegro.

It has been a 100 degrees F for a few days already, we are in for a long Summer.

Would love to write more, but the muppets are not letting me, so more later....

Yesterday, for baka's 67th birthday, Luka figured out how to ride his black hayabusa bicycle without the training wheels. It only took him two days to start riding like a pro. Sunday we went to St. Elias and lit candles for my dad. It has been 5 years since he passed away.

Let's hide!

The latest obsession for both of them is to hide before anyone (baka, granny, dada etc.) arrive. Luka is willing to sit quietly for 20 mins, but Ana can only stay still for about 2. Anyway, they delight in hiding and go back to their favorite few hiding spots over and over again. Ana will even come out, giggle and then run right back to hide believing that you have no clue where she may be. She is also in a very loving phase and wants to be held and rocked to sleep, if at all possible.
Luka is still talking about tornadoes daily, and has figured out that tanker trucks deliver their goods to the "tankery". He is very proud of his vegetable garden and has been willing to taste everything from it.

Ana's teeth

Last Saturday Ana fell while we were shopping and chipped two top from teeth. It could have been worse, but I was very sad. Luckily, it doesn't seem to bother her at all. Got our little skype camera installed, so now we can talk to Mia and see her too. Pretty fun. I just returned from Philladelphia, only a two-day trip, but I missed the muppets a lot. I think Ana got a bit taller in just two days. Luka is my big sweet boy, just a perfect little kid. I love them both!

Luka is now twice as old as Ana

And never again... He just turned four, she turned two. Very low-key birthdays, family only. Although Marina did bring "Vasina torta" over for Ana's birthday, so we all gained about 5 pounds last week. Luka opted for strawberry cake with strawberry icing and a tornado on top. It has been really cold here lately, yesterday the windchill got down to 7F, almost unheard of for this part of Texas. We even had "Now" and attempted to sled last Friday.
Here are a couple more of Luka's recent gems:
- I need to get a fish stick so I can go fishing
- After I told him that my heart grew big when he gave me a hug and a kiss, he looked at me very concerned and asked: "Mom, you have a heart inside of you?"

Switching to English

Well, here it is, 2011, and I have decided to switch to English. The reason is that I want to document some of Luka's interesting observations of life, and as he is mostly speaking English, it is just a lot easier to do it like this. Also, I realized that the only people that read this blog can understand English just fine, so here we go:
Returned from a birthday party tonigt. Ana fell asleep on the way back, in spite of cake, fruit, juice and other treats full of sugar. It is cold outside (yes, that does happen in Texas), so she looked adorable in her pink jacket and fashion-forward white boots that granny (diddy) bought her. Speaking of cold outside, Ana thinks that is how you say that something is cold. Thus, everything is "cold outside". She will take a sip of water and proclaim it to be "Cold outside". Andy still adores the way she says "Shoes" and prompts her to say it several times a day.
We returned from Hollywood Beach, FL, few days ago. We being Taca, Mia, Seka, Ana and I. It was a great liitle vacation, Ana and Mia had the best time splashing in the Atlantic ocean as well as the hotel pool. On the way back (in the plane) we discovered that Ana had tree nut allergy. But, everything ended well, now we just have to be very careful that she does not eat any nuts.
Luka will be four soon. He is very sweet and a bit shy, reminds me a lot of me. Right now he is very concerned about tornadoes, as he saw one in the IMAX in 3D and apparently got a bit scared. He is also very attached to his Rudolph stuffed toy, he sleeps with it and had a clown at the party make him a Rudolph out of baloons. I wanted to post a couple of funny thoughts that he has come up with lately:
1. Luka, you are going to watch an airplane movie with dada, and maybe even fly a plane! Aaaam, I am too little to fly a plane, I may press a "land" button
2. Luka, did you go use a potty? Yes, but it was not a "Bravo, bravo!"
